There is a change of plan this Tuesday to help our expeditioners get a little more navigation practice in advance of their assessment.

Please can everyone meet at the car park for Packwood House (B94 6AT) at 6.45 (slightly earlier start) so that we can get an early start. The end time will be 9pm as normal at the car park in Dorridge Park (end of the road at B93 8LJ).

There may be a shower or two so everyone will need to bring a jacket and a drink  / snack if required. Small teams (no more than 4 people) will be set off at intervals to find their way back to Dorridge park, led by the D of E expeditioner who knows exactly what he is doing (hopefully).

The D of E team who went out at the weekend who isn’t doing the expedition still needs to bring ALL their stuff back this week, with the tent dry after being hung out for at least a day after the expedition.

All participants this weekend who had a compass need to bring it with them for this exercise.

Please let us know if you have any questions. See you tomorrow!

This weekend is a mountain bike outing to the trails at Cannock Chase. We are’t running this as a formal weekend trip but an informal meeting of people who want to go and bike around a great set of trails. Members are welcome to bring friends and family along but will need to have a responsible person with them. If any member can’t come with a responsible person but still wants to take part, that is fine BUT YOU MUST LET US KNOW BEFOREHAND – if you don’t you won’t be able to ride!!

There are two trails, we will be doing the easier and shorter of the two, although it will still be challenging for those that take part.

The plan was to go on Sunday but it looks like there is a triathlon taking place there that day and the roads will be closed for pretty much the whole of the day. Therefore we will go on Saturday but won’t meet there until 3pm as there are earlier commitments in the day time.

The meeting place will be the Birches Valley Car park, post code is: WS15 2UQ – park in the car park and meet at the cafe.

If you have a bike that you will be bringing, please make sure it is in GREAT condition – if it isn’t the trails will find out! Please check brakes work well, tyres are in good condition with tread, no punctures and it all moves without resistance.

If you need to rent a bike you can do so from Swinnerton Cycles, but you will need to book in advance: click here.

Finally: we need to know who is coming!! Please email simon@challengeadventure.org BEFORE the end of Friday so we can make an assessment of numbers etc.

Please let us know of any questions! See you Saturday – but please tell us beforehand!

Following on from the Knowle Fun Run where Simon achieved a personal best on the course (beating the time he set when 11 years old), the target of raising £1000 for the Cameron Grant Memorial Fund hasn’t been reached yet and so Simon is off running again. Read more

Dorridge Fun Run is this Sunday morning.

It’s a great event to take part in: you can run, walk, cycle or otherwise propel your way around a choice of either 3 or 8 mile routes so long as it doesn’t require the use of any kind of engine or motor. Read more

There are two programs going on tomorrow, as follows:

  • D of E participants are at Bickenhill as normal, 7pm start.
  • Smalls are at Olton Mere from 7pm. Please make sure to bring / be in a set of clothes that can get wet with some old shoes. You will need to be able to change out of them and into a dry set at the end. It will be a good idea to have a thin waterproof to wear – it won’t keep you dry but will keep the wind off you and stop you from getting cold. For those that don’t know, Olton Mere is on the Warwick Road in Olton, opposite the BP filling station – post code: B92 7AN. Finish time will be 9pm as usual.

Let us know of any questions, see you tomorrow.

We are inviting a new generation of young members to come and join us for a night of fun and to find out about Challenge Adventure Group. Read more

Sorry for the delay but it’s taken lots of attempts to get the program right and sucked up huge amounts of time to do so. The great new is it’s done!! Read more
