Over the last two years we have raised significant funds for Troop Aid (a charity that assists troops injured in Afghanistan and elsewhere) and Spurgeons (a charity that supports vulnerable children in the UK).

For our fundraising this year we have decided to deal with a local cause which is close to all our hearts and closer to home: CAG!

In order to do this we will continue to use the two main events that we have been involved with over the last couple of years: the Knowle and Dorridge Fun Runs. The ability for each member to help CAG and themselves this year is amazing and directly benefits all members. It works like this:

  1. Each member will be encouraged to raise sponsorship AND take part in the events. The amount each member raises through sponsorship will be credited directly to them for use towards their own CAG events & trips (but not membership fees).
  2. Every member that raises sponsorship and takes part in the events will have their sponsorship DOUBLED by CAG for use on events and activities etc.
  3. CAG will also directly receive a further contribution equal to the amount raised by the member.

For example:

  • Joe Bloggs runs in the Knowle Fun Run and raises £50 sponsorship.
  • He will directly get the benefit of that sponsorship amount for use on trips, plus £50 to match it.
  • CAG also gets £50!

This is WIN WIN WIN. All it takes are members to raise sponsorship and take part in the events. There are some rules though:

  1. Our match funding is not unlimited and so there is a limit to the amount we can give to members to match their sponsorship ! To give everyone a fair share of getting a slice of the funds and as it is an “earn and learn about money” event, we are limiting the sponsorship provided by family members over both events to a total of £20. This amount we guarantee to match fund.
  2. The participant will be able to raise as much other sponsorship as he possibly can from other sources which will be matched if we have enough money, or will be matched on a pro-rata basis with the funds we have available if we can’t match it directly.
  3. All the money raised will be saved in CAG funds and will be available to take part in CAG events for the member who raised it from October 2013 forwards (we don’t have the match funding available until then)

Additionally, anyone that enters the Knowle Fun Run as part of a team of 4 CAG members, will qualify for the team competition that we are going to be running. The aim is that the fastest team will win a further prize on top of the additional money benefit.

What you need to do:

  1. Enter both the Knowle and Dorridge Fun Runs via their websites:
Knowle Fun Run: www.knowlefunrun.org.uk; If you intend to enter as part of a team of 4, you need to get all your team organised and enter through the team entry form. Your team name MUST start with “Challenge Adventure Group” and finish with something suitable.
FUN RUN ENTRIES ARE LIMITED AND CLOSE ON MAY 7TH – ENTER NOW!!
  2. Dorridge Fun Run: www.dorridgefunrun.org;  This event has the opportunity to either walk, run or cycle either of the two courses of 3 or 8 miles.
  3. Get Sponsorship: the sponsorship form is on the next page. You can get as much sponsorship from family members as you like but we will only match up to £20 of the total of your sponsorship from family members across both events.

Get going – time is short so get going and good luck! Forms are attached to the right.

Good luck!! Let us know if you have any questions.
