Following our presentation and AGM on October 17th the first meeting of the CAG Committee of this year will take place on Wednesday 21st at 7.30pm at the Drum And Monkey on Four Ashes Road.

There were several roles advertised at the AGM that were committee roles and non-committee small administrative roles. We were seeking a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer to help us run the organisation i.e. all the essential elected officials that run the back-office of the organisation.

We may have filled one of the roles but since the meeting we have lost our incumbent Treasurer due to a serious injury and hospitalisation. Without a Treasurer the organisation simply cannot operate and will be forced to suspend operations until a Treasurer can be found.

The other minor roles are: Uniform co-ordinator, Activity Planner, Promotion and Fundraising, Assistant Leaders, D of E and outdoor leaders, Stores manager, Purchaser, conversion to a Registered Charity etc.

As discussed at the AGM, the group is fantastically successful in terms of numbers, D of E and the trips and activities that have been run and are planned for the coming year. However, as the number of members has increased the number of individuals assisting in running the organisation has decreased resulting in a workload on current volunteers that is not sustainable; the inevitable result of this will be the reduction of opportunities that we can offer and have already started to do so.
