Great to see everyone at the end of year curry and awards the other night. If you weren’t there, you missed a great night, some awards and a video of the year. You can see the video at http://www.challengeadventure.org/2017/12/16/cag-end-of-year-video/ .
Well done to all the award winners and to those that weren’t lucky enough to win – we’ve had a great year with a great group of members and are looking forward to continuing the adventure in 2018.
A couple of reminders for you:
D of E Forms Need Returning
If you are intending to start D of E at any level or continue to the next award level from January onwards we need to get your forms BEFORE the end of the year so we can have everyone set up in time for the start next term. Please complete the attached form (click here for PDF | click here for Word Doc) and return it to 112 Browns Lane, Knowle, B93 9BD. The fee for registrations is £20 for Bronze and Silver, £27 for Gold. For new participants there is also a reduced annual admin fee of £25. All costs and payment info is on the attached. Please don’t delay returning your form – we only register everyone after we have received all the forms – if your form is late it will delay everyone getting registered and started. Thanks!
Santa Sleigh Collections
Thanks to everyone for taking part in the collections so far, everyone who has taken part will have found how fun and festive they are. The fun is almost over though – just one round to go on Monday for remaining collectors.
Round Table have been delighted with the support we have provided them and have just made the offer of a substantial donation to the group which will really help us – thanks to everyone for making this possible.
For anyone that wants to do more, Round Table are asking for assistance on their remaining nights aside from Monday – all information is at http://www.kandd.org.uk/portfolio/santa/ . In particular they are expanding their routes to include a new round in Hockley Heath (http://www.kandd.org.uk/routes/KandDRT_Route19.pdf) starting at 3pm at Belton Close on Sunday. Please will you let us know if you can assist, it’s great fun.
New Members in January
As usual, we welcome new members but especially at the start of term. There isn’t a specific new members event next term, but if you know of anyone who would like to join us they are more than welcome – please give them our contact details and ask them to make contact. We need to know who is coming before the start of term (as soon as possible is better) so we can make plans for numbers.
In particular:
- The Smalls (up to year 8) will be doing their own separate program from January due to the Bigs taking part in D of E expedition training – a couple more in each age group will knock the final tiles off the roof and make it a blast.
- The Bigs will be undertaking D of E expedition training. We know there are hundreds of people in the local area who want to take part in D of E but can’t get a place whilst we have spare capacity. If you know of anyone who wants to take part, get them to contact us and we will do the rest.
We look forward to welcoming new members.
That’s all for 2017 – have a great Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing everyone, and some new faces, in 2018!!
