Skiing at Ackers – PLEASE READ AND REPLY

Next weeks’ activity is dry skiing at Ackers Adventure. The following information is important, please read and respond.

There are three activity groups that can attend:

  1. Beginners will be able to get started and get an excellent lesson to begin skiing
  2. Another instructor will work with a group to improve their skills on the main slope
  3. A final group of skiers will be able to recreational ski

The cost per person is £10. Each of these groups is limited to 10 people per group – meaning we have an allowance of 30 members overall – this has only just been communicated to us. Clearly we can’t get everyone in to the activity so here is the plan:

  • CAG members who are going skiing on the CAG ski trip the week after will attend at Bickenhill instead
  • We suggest that other members who are skiing on other ski trips don’t tempt fate and attend at Bickenhill as well
  • We will operate a first come first served policy for everyone else to reply and let us know which group (1, 2 or 3 above) you would like to be in
  • If you don’t reply and turn up at Ackers anyway YOU WON’T BE ALLOWED ON THE SLOPE!!!!

There will still be more people able to to go Ackers than there are places available for which is why we need to know what group you would like to be in. To get as many people as possible into the activity without dominating one group or another:

  • Beginners will be in the beginner group regardless – those that can’t be accommodated will be declined and will attend a fun evening in Bickenhill
  • Recreational ski number are limited to 10 and will be popular
  • Any spaces in the instructional group on the main slope will be filled with members that ask to take part in the recreational ski but can’t fit into that group

Those that attend in Bickenhill will have a fab night, so don’t worry about the activities there.

Skiers need to have a CHEQUE with them for £10 made payable to “Challenge Adventure Group” and must have gloves and arms and legs covered to protect from the abrasive surface. Pickup time will be 9pm.

Those that opt to go to Bickenhill need to confirm attendance there as well.

TO DO ITEMS FOR ALL MEMBERS:

  • Decide which activity area to be in: Skiing at Ackers or Bickenhill
  • If Skiing at Ackers decide which group above: 1, 2 or 3
  • Email lindsay@challengeadventure.org with the name of the member and the choice – If skiing: NO EMAIL, NO ADMITTANCE!!!

Sorry to be so stringent, Ackers have told us simply not to turn up with more than 30 people or we won’t be allowed on the slope.
