We’ve only been back a short time and we’ve got a great new gang – the 2021 end of year video has some of the events that we’ve been up to since we came back, but we missed a whole lot more – enjoy it!

Looking forward to 2022 – we’ll be out and about a lot more – have a great Xmas and New Year, see you Jan 11th 2022!

We’re at Ackers ski centre tonight – please don’t forget to arrive before 7.15pm so we can get you booked in, equipment issued and out on to the slope for your session. Read more

Tomorrow we are going with the plan in the program: last week the boys prepared the route they will follow for our Packwood to Dorridge challenge – the team that completes the task in the shortest time gets the points and their chips at the destination are paid by CAG, everyone buys their own.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is for a mild evening, no rain but there has been periods of rain recently so the boys will need the following:

  • Essential:
    • A waterproof jacket – essential even if there isn’t any rain forecast there could well be a shower
    • Drink and snack
    • Shoes / trousers that can cope with muddy footpaths and fields
    • A torch THAT WORKS
    • Backpack to carry items in
    • Money for chips if they aren’t the fastest team!!
  • Optional
    • Warm sweater – CAG fleece is perfect for this
    • Hat & Gloves

We will be meeting at Packwood House (https://goo.gl/maps/39SvRMhRMAhaK216A) but the car parks and turning areas will be closed – please drop off outside Packwood house and continue in a straight line through the house frontage to the junction at the end of the road to either turn around or make your way home on other roads.

The start time is 7pm at Packwood House but will be there for drop offs from 6.45pm – we want to start on time and get everyone away as soon as possible after 7pm so please be on time – being late will delay EVERYBODY and the finish – please don’t be late!!

The finish point is the chip shop in Dorridge: https://g.page/dorridge-fish-bar?share

Finish time: aiming for 9pm finish, sometimes when we do this we are considerably early, sometimes a group may be later than planned so please be aware of this – we will do what we can to get everyone back on time with chips finished.

The boys will be in their teams with a “Big” (a 14 year old or older) and no adults but will be monitored around the course at regular checkpoints to make sure they get around on time and don’t go in the wrong direction.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

We’re getting back together this week after the half term break with a split program as follows:

  • One group is going diving at Aquasport for their Diving Intro course – start time 7pm with a towel, t-shirt and disclaimer. We will be in contact with each diver by email to make sure you have what you need to go diving. There is still one spare place for any friend or family member who may like to take it, let us know!!
  • Everyone else is at CAG Towers for a Lemon Drizzle Cake Challenge, planning of next weeks night hike and a quick blast around the field for some capture the flag.

For those who will be at CAG Towers please make sure to bring shoes that can go on a wet muddy field.

Doors will be open at normal times: 6.45pm for a 7pm start. There are bonus team points on offer to each team who are all present on time.

See you tomorrow!

A couple of reminders for you in advance of tonight:

We’re Outside Tonight

We’re going with the plan in the program to be outside tonight – that means the ground will be wet and possibly muddy so please wear appropriate footwear. It may rain so you will need a jacket that can get wet. Read more

We are out and about tomorrow – we’ll be in the field with our first outdoor activity of the term and we’ll also be kicking of our CAG Bake Off challenge.

After a great (and first!) summer on and off the water, alas the summer is over – but a new school year is about to start and so is the new CAG term.

The Winter term at CAG will start on September 14th and will be our first full term since coming back after covid interruptions.

Apart from seeing everyone again, we’re really looking forward to welcoming new members in school years 6 and above. We’re also looking forward to starting a new cohort of D of E participants who are in year 9 and above.

If you are, or know of someone who is in year 6 of above and might like to get involved in CAG, or if they are entering year 9 then DofE as well, please let them know about CAG and direct them to www.challengeadventure.org

We’ve all been stuck inside for 12 months or more and now we are allowed out to enjoy the summer we’re opening CAG up to new members.

We’re having a new members evening on June 15th at our base at CAG Towers for potential new members in years 5, 6, 7 and 8 to come and find out what we do.

It’ll be great fun for anyone in those age groups who can come along and see what we do to find out about CAG.

CAG is also looking for new members of our leadership team as well – if you are want to help us get people out and about please come along and have a chat, we’ll be pleased to see you!
