As you will know from our program we are holding an single night camping trip on July 1 – 2 for everyone not involved in the D of E expeditions that are running the same weekend. Read more
The DofE Assessment Expedition is taking place on 15th – 16th July 2017 in the White Peak area of the Peak District.
Please read the attached Trip Information carefully and let us know if you have any questions.
There are two sets of arrangements for this week due to activities and leader numbers:
- Bigs and YL’s: will be at Olton Mere. Usual times and requirements, make sure to bring a drink and a change of clothes.
- Smalls are in the bike ride that is doing to be leaving from the car park at Dorridge Park. (Location: https://goo.gl/maps/pzwD9fNNqzn) Please meet at the car park at 6.45pm – not the usual 7pm. Please make sure that your bikes are roadworthy i.e. good tyres with enough air in them, two brakes (that work), two wheels that will stay on, etc etc. Each rider MUST have a helmet. If you don’t have a helmet we won’t be taking you on the ride. The ride will go out to Warwickshire and back again via a pub for a cold drink and a snack so bring some money if you want. You will certainly require a drink as it will be very warm. The ride will finish back at the park at 9pm.

We had a great weekend paddling – but we’re all paddled out so we’re going to be at Bickers this week, not the Mere as shown in the program.

As you know from the program, we are running a weekend canoe expedition on the River Severn on the weekend of June 9th – 11th.
We will start on the Friday evening by travelling to the River Severn, camping the night and then getting up early to be ready to get on the river for the first day’s paddling. Read more
We are heading to Shropshire for the bronze practice expedition on 1st July – 2nd July 2017. It will provide some essential preparation, working on all elements of the expedition part of the Bronze DofE award. This weekend is mandatory for all bronze participants to ensure you are well prepared for the assessment expedition on 15th – 16th July 2017.
