As you know, CAG are running the Fete Games at this year’s Dorridge Day. We’re delighted to have been invited by the Knowle and Dorridge Round Table to take on this challenge. It gives us the opportunity to advertise CAG at a long running community event and raise funds for future CAG events and equipment.
Thank you to the CAG members and parents who have volunteered their time on Sunday. If you are one of those volunteers please read on for all the information you’ll need on the day.
Essential: CAG members – please wear your CAG tops. We’ll also have some leaflets on the stands to give out to any interested folk. A smile and confidence to talk about what we do at CAG will also be welcomed as it’s our opportunity to show what we’re about to the local community and advertise our open evening on Tuesday 12th September.
Timings for Sunday’s event are as follows;
Set Up: Arrive at 11am to set up the 6 games and get up to speed with how to run them. Games include; the Coconut Shy, Hoopla, Chuck-a-Duck, Splat a Rat, Tin Can Alley and Traitors Gate. We’ll brief you on how the games should be played, how much the games are and what prizes any lucky winners will get.
Let the games begin! Dorridge Day officially opens at 12pm and the games will run until the prizes run out. We expect this to be between 3:30-4pm. We’ll rotate around the games and have breaks so everyone can enjoy Dorridge Day. There will be a big water fight at 3:45pm so expect most people will be heading to that.
Clear Up: Maybe not the most popular part of the day but we’ll need to dismantle the games and tidy up. We expect this to be completed no later than 4:30pm so everyone can enjoy the remainder of their Sunday.
For those of you who have volunteered all day, please join us from 11am onwards. If you can’t join until later, please let Lindsay know so we can ensure we have enough cover on the games. Remember, the more people we have, the more we can rotate and have breaks (aka kids to the inflatable obstacle courses and adults to the beer tent).
A list of volunteers will be shared on the Whats App group, so if you’re on there and can no longer attend, let us know asap. Additionally, if you’re not on the list and can support us then we’d love to have reinforcements half way through the afternoon! Again, please let Lindsay know.
Thank you once again for your support and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Regards
