We’re car washing again this weekend – it’s going to be cold, but sunny, so participants will need to wrap up warm and bring marigold gloves or their hands will be pretty cold!!! (Tip: get a large pair, wear some thin woolly gloves first, marigolds over the top, job done.) Read more

We’re inside tomorrow but we’ll try to get outside for a short activity if possible.

It’s Lemon Drizzle week in the cake challenge so have a go if you want – it’s just a bit of fun and worth some points.

On Wednesday, Nov 2nd, it is our D of E information evening. This is for everyone who is taking part or interested in taking part in D of E, which is for all year 9’s and above. If you are interested in taking part or are already taking part, you need to be at the information evening.

We will be starting our D of E program in January and need more new members to take part. There are lots of students at your school who haven’t been able to take part in their school program, so if you want them to join you to have an awesome experience, then bring them along.

The presentation starts at 7.30pm and should last about an hour – we look forward to seeing you!

We have looked at the activities on offer for this trip and are able to make the following activity changes if participants would like to:

Currently, the program is everyone to do Caving and Weasling on day 1, hike on day 2.

We can change to the following:

  • Everyone does a half day of mountain biking on day 1
  • In the other half of the day, morning or afternoon, everyone has a choice of weasling or caving, but not both.

So the scenarios are as follows:

  1. Everyone does a half day of mountain biking with a half day of either weasling or caving
  2. Everyone does a half day or mountain biking with a half day of weasling for everyone
  3. Everyone does a half day or mountain biking with a half day of caving for everyone
  4. We stick with the current plan of no biking and half day or weasling and caving for everyone

All scenarios will involve splitting into two groups to do the activity – we can’t do everyone in one group.

If you are coming, please will you let us know preferences before Sunday evening or we will make the decision for the group.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

As you know from the program, we are running an outdoor activities weekend in the Peak District during the weekend of November 4th – 6th.

Following last night’s event is was apparent some parents and members weren’t receiving information from us on either one or both of the two platforms we use to communicate with you, email and WhatsApp – and that caused issues. Read more

A quick reminder that it is the Cameron Grant Memorial Trust Night Walk this Friday (Cameron was a member of CAG for a long time). It isn’t a CAG event so is open for everyone and anyone to take part in.

It takes place in Hampton In Arden, is open to absolutely anyone and is great fun.

All the details are online at http://www.camgrant.org.uk/events/2nd-night-walk/ – registration prior to the event is required so the organisers know how many people will turn up so do go to the website and register.

There isn’t any need to raise any sponsorship but if you do, or make a donation, it advances the work of the Cameron Grant Memorial Trust.

Good luck, it’s a really great event, you’ll really enjoy it!
