There a LOT going on next week and we need to make sure we have told you all about it.
The main activity for the members is “Char Cloth” which will take place outside. It involves fire and will be on the far side of the field so appropriate footwear for a wet and muddy field will be required. If it looks like raining please make sure to have appropriate clothing – nothing that is too sacred though: there will be some fires with lots of smoke so please don’t wear anything too precious. What members need to bring: a metal tin with a small hole in the lid, such as a sweet tin, with a piece of old cloth in it but it must be 100% cotton. An old t-shirt or any old rag will do, so long as it is cotton and you don’t want it back: it’s going to get burned.
Whilst that is going on outside, we are going to re-run the information evening inside for those new members and parents and anyone else that didn’t get to attend last week. This is a really important event for those that missed it: it gives all the important information about what we are doing this term, trips, ski trips, D of E, funding everything and answers any questions you have whatsoever. If you haven’t been able to see it yet please make sure to come next Tuesday at 7pm for the start of the meeting when we will get stuck into it as soon as possible thereafter. It will take around an hour, after which parents / members can choose to take part in the awesome activity outside or head home (but please let us know if you do so we know where the members are).
At the start of all that we are kicking off our cake contest: as shown on the program we are inviting members to make and show a cake for the theme of the week. The first week is a straight forward Chocolate Cake – those that want to take part can make and bring in a cake of any kind as long as it is along the lines of “Chocolate” and “Cake”. Anyone that does take part will win points towards their team and themselves for the term team and personal competitions. The maker of the best cake will win a stack-load more points though. Leaders will judge and will be very happy to taste as many cakes as possible. It’s just a bit of fun, have a go and see what you can do.
Hope that’s ok – looking forward to seeing current and new members with their parents next week, we start at 7pm, doors will be open beforehand to get everyone in on time.
See you next week!
