Well done D of E’ers!!!

Well done to all who took part in the practice expeditions this weekend. The weather was very warm which made the going difficult and thirsty work.

Everyone had a great attitude and worked very hard, so congratulations to all.

Now, you need to prepare your kit to be returned THIS WEEK, as follows:

• Make sure to get your tents are dry by hanging them out for an hour or so. Make sure there are at least 15 STRAIGHT pegs in the tent, straighten them if they aren’t and let us know if the tent doesn’t have enough.Please check your tents for any damage and let us know.

  Finally, make sure to zip up all zips on your tents, pack them perfectly and as demonstrated and bring them back tomorrow.

•  Trangias need to be cleaned with a Brillo pad to resemble the day they were born – in other words cleaner than you can possibly imagine!! That includes all sides of every part. Make sure to put it all back together and return tomorrow.
• Other items: maps, map cases, compasses, fuel bottles all need to be cleaned of any marks (including any pen marks) you have  made on them (use meths to clean the maps).

If you can’t return your items tomorrow please make sure to give them to someone else to return them for you.

If we don’t have all your items returned tomorrow evening we will assume they have been lost and have to ask for reimbursement of those items through the person listed as the borrower.
